While the spotlight was on the fashion show, celebrity performances and testimonials about the importance of education, we hope the overall message of the event will stay in the kids’ mind. “Approximately 7,000 students will drop out of school — per school day — nationwide,” says Tonya Lewis, Executive Director of E4EA. “The goal of this event was to raise awareness of the alarmingly high dropout rate in the United States and send a powerful message to over 2,500 New York inner city youth, encouraging them to make smart choices about their future and to stay in school.”

The “Stay in School” concert took place on Wednesday, October 17th at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC.
